Celebrating 50 trips around the sun

Raabes with Julie and Scott Eastridge

I had so much fun surprising Chris with Denver Bronco football tickets to celebrate his 50th birthday! Thanks to our good friends’ (the Meints) connection to some season tickets, I was able to snag 2 seats in the lower bowl for a great price. I love it when things like this work out. And who else would we invite to go with us but the 2 biggest Bronco fans we know, Scott and Julie.

Friday was our travel day
Saturday was spent in Golden shopping, at the Coors plant and some light hiking. Julie really enjoyed some of the interesting crystals at one of those new age stores. We found the best restaurant in Golden and then enjoyed drinks back at the hotel.
Sunday was game day
Monday was our travel home day

I might have been a little nervous about going to an outdoor football game in Colorado on December 31st but God blessed us with some amazing weather. I’m wearing several layers but no winter coat.

Summer 2021 Overview

We had a pretty good summer. Here is our highlight reel
* * *
What is not pictured below is the long hours I worked at Restore Chiropractic or the way Chris took over all the household duties. It's probably fair to admit that he did a better job cooking and doing the laundry than I do. Thanks babe!!

Emma found her dress at the same bridal shop that I bought my wedding dress in over 25 years ago. I can't wait to share her photos.

Reagan cashed in her 18th birthday gift a year and a half late and checked off a bucket list item

We Finally Got a B O Y!

Happy Engagement Day
Joe & Emma
This guy is a planner! Joe wanted today to be special for his bride-to-be and he did just that!

First, Emma had NO idea what was happening! I love this piece of his plan. Somehow there were 30+ of us waiting at the coffee shop to witness the big proposal. How did we all manage to keep this secret from Em?

Second, Emma showed up hair, make up and nails ready and in cute clothes. Joe had a plan to make this all happen.

Third, Joe ordered the ring with lots of time to spare (thankfully) because it arrived 14 days late. He was nervous! Reagan got to be part of picking out the ring. This ring is gorgeous!

I wouldn’t call Joe a traditionalist but I love that he asked Chris on March 28th for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Aw, so much respect for his father-in-law to be.

I started praying for Emma’s spouse while I was pregnant. I prayed that he would love God above all else and second love and cherish our baby girl. Joe, is a man who loves the Lord, loves our daughter and loves people. Last but not least he even like us! We are thrilled to be on this new journey and thankful God gave us Joe.

That ring tho!

Several people asked Em about a date. She said, “well, I just found out about this within the hour, I need some time”
I am so excited to participate with the kids to explore, plan and create a fun wedding day experience.

Be my Valentine

My forever Valentine!
Easily Chris’ least favorite day of the year. We don’t really celebrate except going out for dinner sometime that week, never on the 14th!
