It’s remarkable how quickly the first year of life has flown by for this little peanut!
We love you Willow!

Thankful for FaceTime in moments like this so Auntie Liv could help us celebrate all the way from Germany

The Great Grandmas

What a special day! We had 40+ friends and family at our house to celebrate the first year of life with this precious little girl. Emma had the cutest decorating ideas and Chris and I took care of the food. We found out that Willow is a BIG fan of frosting, it might take a few days to detox. Ha

Smiles and HairBows

Spending time with our baby girl is the best!

I’m going to say that again, spending time with our baby girl is the best!!

I have both the joy of helping with childcare and the privilege of spending time with this precious grandchild on Tuesdays and Fridays. Emma went back to work in late January and my hours were suppose to be 8:30am - 5pm. There has been only one day that I have stayed past noon. Ha. Cracks me up! Emma has a fantastic boss who is so understanding and accommodating. Honestly, Em doesn’t mind going home early one bit, she would love to be a stay at home mom.

So many people told me that being a grandma is better than words can express. They were 100% accurate! Seeing the smile of little Willow when I walk in the door makes everything in the world ok.

Here are a few updates…

-Little Will is 7 1/2 mos old and just broke through her first tooth, bottom left

-Little Will has started eating solids, she loves carrots and fruits. This week she showed me how much has despises peas and green beans.

-Little Will is constantly on the go, seems like she is ready to walk but not willing to even try to crawl

-Little Will loves her momma most of all and of course her daddy too but now when she sees Mimi she reaches out. That makes me feel so good

-Little Will loves her dog, Molly Moo  Yesterday Molly was ignoring her and baby girl was not ok with that! I couldn’t help but crack up watching her make noises at Molly and tap her back while she was sleeping. Molly isn’t totally sold on this little human in her house but she also comes to her rescue when mama puts her in the bathtub

-Little Will is nosy, she always has to know who is talking, where Molly Moo is and what’s going on

St Patty’s Day

Willow Melodie
4.5 mos old

No cuter St Patty’s Baby!!!
The week before March 17th got a little chaotic. I had plans to make a cute little outfit for Willow and I had all kinds of time. That’s when I got a very dreaded call from Emma to meet them at the ER so I could take our Willow girl home as Joe got checked in to the hospital with a blockage. OH NO!! The next week I made myself as available to the kids as possible. Emma spent many hours at Methodist hospital with Joe or long nights at home playing the role of a single parent. Poor Joe was in horrible pain and hating his time away from his sweet family. We did what we could to be helpful.
At the last moment on Sunday March 17th I whipped out my computer and silhouette to make this “Lucky Girl” shirt to wear for 4-5 hours on St Patrick’s Day. Is that silly? Maybe but it’s what I do.

After 10 long days, Joe returned home on March 21st
Praying for good health for this young man

I just can't believe I am going to be a Mimi, aka grandma.
I can't wait!!

Emma has dealt with so much illness through out this pregnancy. Being a mama is hard, she's already rocking it! She makes me proud!
