Today is a BIG one
Our son-in-law turned 30!!!
We love this guy and are so thankful to have him as part of our family. He is a great leader of his family, a strong Christian man who loves our daughter second only to Jesus. What an answered prayer! And the way he loves Willow and Elisha is beautiful.
Joe, we pray for you daily. May you continue to seek the Lord in all you do and say
Where have I been?
What’s been going on?
I’m not sure where to start. It’s been about 20 months since I last recorded my ramblings on this blog. Now the question is this…do I try to recap everything or just move forward? To be honest I don’t have the answer.
Current status of the Raabe clan…
Chris is still teaching 8th history in Millard and coaching middle school sports
I am still working at Restore chiropractic, this month marks my 6th year. It’s been a bumpy year. Do you sometimes wonder why God tells you to “stay put” when that’s the last thing you want to do?
Emma and Joe live in Omaha, about 35 min from us. Their family has grown. Willow turns 3 next month and Elisha turns 1 the next day. Joe is still roasting the best coffee in town and has recently been hired as the “assistant” pastor at the local Global Methodist church just 1/2 mile from our house. In his free time he is going to g back to seminary to fulfill the Methodist paperwork.
Reagan finally left the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with her master’s degree in Nutrition and exercise science, 3 torn ACLs and 6 years of growth and memories. She is currently playing professional women’s soccer for Tampa Bay by way of the Orlando Pride. We head down there later this month, I can’t wait to hug our girl.
Olivia is in year 2 at Missouri State University studying German education and psychology. Even after taking a gap year in Germany she will still graduate with her age group. Right now the plan is to student teach in Omaha in the fall of 2028.
Luna our cat is the loudest meow maker and for now lives here in Omaha. Olivia is devising a plan to get her down to Springfield.
We just couldn’t resist an offer to open our home to a resident needing a place to live. CSF (Christian student fellowship) asked if we would be willing to house Sara and the next thing I knew Reagan’s bedroom was being cleaned out. More info on that later.
There have been ups and downs the last 2 years, some worth writing about and some just too difficult to rehash. Just know we are doing well and I hope to get back to some kind of consistent communication via this blog. My ramblings may mean something to someone out there or at least when I’m dead and gone there will be stories of a life with Melanie.
