A Scrappy Week!

Trying to get some scrapping done before I pack up my scrappy place. Here are a few of the LOs that I got done this week.

As Olivia's vocabulary grows we crack up at how she expresses herself. One day in the car I told Olivia we were going to Ethan's house and she said, "Oh, my boy?" Yes, I guess he is her boy, they are friends and find such delight in playing together. They don't even fight all that much. I just had to capture this on paper.

Here is the paper form for Emma's Baptism. You know I have to scrap the big and little things of life. This is certainly a BIG thing.

I love the green with the black and white. I saw a digital LO on Scraplove with this color scheme and had to lift it for my own.

Take a Deep Breath!

This morning was an exhausting and nerve racking start to our day. Inthe wee hours of the morning Little Olivia had dental surgery and came through it with flying colors. I was nervous about handing her off to the nurse and listening to her cry but right away my darling hubby offered me a cup of my favorite coffee and did his best to distract me. Now our little girl has a brand new smile.

Take a Look............

Olivia's teeth BEFORE her surgery. It's amazing how strong stomache acid is, that it can eat away something as strong as teeth.
We are happy to report that the doc didn't find any other issues with her teeth! YEA!!!
Here is our beautiful little Olivia after her crowns are on. Today they look huge and very white but over time they will fade a little.

ReBirth

This is what it's all about!!

Is No News Good News?

On Good Friday we placed an offer on a house and we are still in the battle field trying to pound something out with the banks. When I say we, I really mean our realtors. Georgie and Mandy seem to be doing a top notch job. This short sell deal is really a patience maker.

I am ready to order carpet, hard flooring and select paint. I feel like I really need to go back to the house again but with a friend who KNOWS colors. That person would be Tammy but she is inconveniently located 1200 miles away. So now what?

I hope to have some before and after pics up in the next few months. Hang with me people. Which brings me to another subject....who even reads this blog? Anyone? Leave me some comments. I feel like an island out here in cyber space.

My handsome darling hubby is home from his "guys group" so I really should go to bed now.

Peace and warmth to you all!

I scrapped...YAY!!!

Although I really should be packing up my house, last night I got these two layouts done for some challenges online. I'm a bit of a Scraplove addict, on the bright side I am getting some photos on paper and in albums. The down side I'm not getting my work done at home. YIKES!!!

We're getting closer to having a new house, hopefully we'll know if the banks took our offer today. Yesterday I shopped for flooring for the entire house. It was a bit overwhelming, so much to choose from. You know how it goes, they show you the coolest stuff first and it's also the most expensive. This is not a game people!! Today I hope to start picking out colors for paint. ....Wait, no I'm not! I have got to pack. Anyone reading thing please tell me to pack, I've got work to do. :)

Have a super great day! The sun is shinning and my kids are all healthy. Thank you God!

Celebrate

Happy Easter! What's wrong with this picture? Don't we all think of spring, warmth and flowers when we think of Easter? My children are "hunting" for Easter Eggs in coats & gloves. :) The girls brought home more candy than we could ever possibly eat. Guess what's going in the May Day baskets? Everything around here has to be of multiple use or it's gone. ha ha

We had a great Easter! We did the fun kiddie stuff Saturday and then the girls opened their baskets Sunday morning before church. After church we had some friends over for dinner...lots of ham, cheesy potatoes and devilled eggs. But the greatest part of easter was when my oldest daughter told us she was ready to be baptized. Nothing is more exciting than hearing your child make a decision to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of her life. She understands what it means to ask the Holy Spirit to dwell within her. She also understands that there will still be trials and she will still make mistakes. April 6th at 11am Emma will publicly demonstrate her faith. We are so excited!!! There's a party going on in Heaven.

Help the Breast Cancer Site

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting
enough people to click on their site daily to meet
their quota of donating at least one free mammogram
a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than
a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a
mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate
sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily
visits to donate mammogram in exchange for
advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

We Made an Offer!!!

Who said shopping for houses was fun??? It's not! It's stressful! I'd like to say all the stress is over...not yet.

After 4 trips into the city to look at houses, my brain is fried. Today we put an offer on a short sell house, now it's up to the bank to accept, reject or counter our offer. My prayer is that the bank will be speedy in their decision. If this is not the house God wants our family to live in then I'm ok with that. I have complete faith that He will provide just the right home for us. Whew! With that said, I still have to admit that I am anxious to hear from the bank. :)

The fun part of this house....it needs all new flooring and paint everywhere. I can't wait to pick out colors, etc. I love this kind of stuff. I should have taken a picture...guess we'll wait until there's something more certain.

Happy Good Friday to you all! Without this day there wouldn't be an Easter Sunday to celebrate. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross brings the glorious resurrection just 3 days later. What a Great God we have!!!!

SPrinG is cOmiNg!!!

Did you all change your clocks last night? It was a beautiful day in Nebraska. I've got spring fever in a bad way! Can't wait to get outside more.

Reagan's hives did go away after 5 days, each day got a little bit better. Then this morning, there they were again. Poor dear! Doc says it was probably just a virus but I ask why is it here again?

I was sicker than a dog this weekend too. I spent the entire day (Saturday) in bed. I couldn't even tolerate light, sound or smells. That makes life a little difficult around here with 3 young children. What a day! Chris was a trooper, keeping the girls in the basement or taking them out of the house as much as possible.

Just a short update today. I'm off to bed.

Take a Look at this!

This is what I have been dealing with today. Reagan woke up this morning thinking she had a bug bite on her tummy...it turned into this. The child is itching like crazy, I feel so bad for her. After giving her Benadryl it actually got worse. I'm hoping she'll be better in the morning. UGH!!!

Fighting Mulitiple Myeloma

Remember the purple shirts we were wearing in support of my friend with Multiple Myeloma? That day at the race site there were 220 people wearing the same purple t-shirts. Team Angst has something to be proud of they raised over $10,000. We love Marti and it's obvious that lots of other people do too.

Going, Going, GONE

Life is crazy and truly does not stand still for anyone. Not that I am complaining, I like it that way. Just when I find something to worry about, it's taken care of and I'm ready to move on to something else. One might think this is the reason Chris is getting so many gray hairs....NAH!

Tuesday the 19th our house officially went on the market. Saturday morning the 23rd we had an offer and after some negotiations, Sunday morning we had a done deal. Geepers! What happened to the 120 days it was suppose to take to sell this house? I know... nothing is normal when it involves our family. Again, I like it that way! The real explanation is this, before our house even went on the market we started praying for the buyer of our home. YEA, we have an answered prayer here people.

Our new task....pray for the seller of our new home to be. YIKES!!! We looked at open houses today. It was not pretty. I know there is a special house just for our crazy family to fill. Finding it will be a journey, remind me to enjoy the journey and not stress out about it.

In the midst of packing....

...I kind of went crazy! How many childhood items does it take to reach the ceiling? Apparently only 8 items! Ha ha

We met with our realtor and he is very positive so really I should be too. Infact, he told me to quick freaking out about the cleaning and organizing. I can't help myself, I want it to be perfect. I keep saying, "shouldn't I be packing, cleaning, sorting and freaking out just a little about our house going on the market in just 5 days?" However today I took a mental health break and SCRAPPED! I do feel better. :)

This is my standard 3 picture layout.

This is a LO I lifted from Ali Edwards. I love it.

Here's a fun little LO for a friend of mine. Her girls love pink...Mindi I hope you like it.

Little Sleep & Lots of Puke

80's Ladies!!
Is this a totally rad flash back or what? I had SOOO much fun tonight!

My oldest is turning 9 years old. I can't believe it. This is about the time it starts getting hard to "plan" the party or have a cute theme. These girls are caught between a child and a teenie bopper. We had so much fun planning an 80's themed party and even going to Goodwill finding the clothing and accessories.

Geepers, I didn't realize we looked like street walkers back then. I thought it was hot....or like totally tubular. What ever will today's teenagers say in 20 years? ha ha

Just checked on all the girls, 3 are still awake. Funny how they aren't tired but I made them all lay down to watch a movie and within 20 min 5 of the 8 were sound asleep. I'm kind of new to this...do I need to stay up until EVERYONE is asleep? I'm dragging around today on only 2 hours of sleep. Guess it'll be strong coffee tomorrow morning.

Here she is....what a sick little sweetie! For some reason this morning she HAD to keep her stocking cap on during the entire procedure. ha ha funny little girl!

Our little O battles a serious case of reflux and has since she was only minutes old. We experienced a 3 month repreve while on a new med. Last week the docs took her off of it and our world almost crashed! Just as I had expected for 21 months...her respiratory issues were directly linked to reflux. Not only has she been vomiting 10-20 times a day she also has a terrible "cold". This morning we did an upper GI with the expectations we'd do an esophagus scope next week but she's too sick. So for now she is back on the meds, right away she stopped vomiting. As much as I HATE drugs, right now I am loving 'em!!!

Race for the Cure

I just want to make anyone reading this blog aware of a great cause to donate to. Many of you have read or heard about my girlfriend Marti who is battling Multiple Myeloma. Here's a little bit of info about the race they have entered. Marti is planning on being there, she may or may not be in the race but for certain, she is in the race of her lifetime. No pressure but if you are in need of some deductions at tax time, here is a great answer to that problem.

An except from Adam's last email update:
Don't forget about the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) 5K race on Feb 23. http://www.mmrfrace.org/2008/phoenix.html We have formed Team Angst and have over 90 people signed up to participate (our goal was 100!). Even better is that to date we have raised over $3000 (well on our way to our goal of $5000!) And that doesn't include all of you who donated but the donations didn't make it to Team Angst!! No worries there, it all goes to the MMRF one way or another but if you don't see your name on the Team Angst fundraising page, contact Amelia Lewis at (203) 652-0205, or at lewisa@themmrf.org and ask her to move your contribution to Team Angst. If you have yet to sign up to contribute, make sure your pop-up blocker is off when you select the Team Angst fundraising page.

The Princess & her court

Only a baby sister could get her two older sisters to dress up and prance around the house. Too bad I didn't get my camera out earlier because Reagan did have a crown on as well. Now that is something we don't see often around here. All though they fight like cats and dogs from time to time, the love they share is like no other. If only we all could mend our silly differance as easily as children do. Ahh, wouldn't life be much more pleasant?

The Raabe's have big news!!! No, it's not another baby. :) Last week Chris accepted a job in Omaha...we're moving! Our house will be going on the market soon although we don't plan to move until school is out. Please be praying for the buyer of our home and the seller of our new home.

We do believe in the power of God. There are lots of unanswered questions but we know without a doubt that He will guide us to the very location He needs us. Personally, I would like to know the timing and details...that's just the woman I am. (Aren't we all?)

I had an incredible week in Phoenix with my friend Marti...isn't she simply beautiful? Some of you have asked how Marti is doing. She has a great attitude and the chemo, radiation, etc seems to be working. Now if we could just get her to lay around alittle more.

I went to Arizona to spend some QT with Marti and take her to some doc visits which I did but I also was able to see some dear sweet friends. A huge thanks to Eric, Karen and Regina for putting me up for a whole week. Their dog was not especially fond of me, luckily I got out of there unscathed. Another huge thank you to Grandma for letting me drive her "old" minivan all over the valley for 6 days. And then there is Tammy, this girl's picture should be next to the definition of "friend." She always knows my favorite everything and thinks of others before herself. I would not be complete without her friendship. Thank you Tammy for the 50 pounds of clothing and hairbows I brought home to Olivia. Kimberly, Kim, Kim, Vicki, Eileen, LaRae and Shelly, it was great to see you. I hit most of my favorite spots in the valley, including Oreganos and SAS (fabric store).

Now I'm off to bed so I can be a happy, productive mommy tomorrow morning. Love to you all!

Vincent

This is the newest member of the family. Vincent has been around, since July, for a while but I just got around to scrapping a layout. I use to make fun of people who scrapped their pets. Well, I figure you've gotta have at least one LO. He is the best kitty. He even puts up with Olivia and all the "love" she gives him.
