What's Wrong with Me?

I have been trying to get a picture up there in my header and I just can't make it work. Can't I just copy the url from photobucket into that little space under editing the layout? It can be a jpg right? UGH! I am getting so frustrated. I tried to get my photo on the "about me" section too. Why can't I figure this out and what is wrong with me?

Tell me, tell me if you have some neccessary info for me. Thanks!

I'm mad, no happy, no surprise, no I think mad!

Reagan has taught Olivia a little something about being expressive, as if she really needs help in that area. It does crack us up and I think you'll enjoy it too. Take a quick look.

Many of you haven't ever seen a happy or playful side of Olivia because of her stomach problems. Since late October, she's a new gal. Praise God!

Let's Play

Tomorrow is Olivia's birthday party with both sets of grandparents. She requested an Elmo cake. Do you know those pans cost $11.99? Eeks! Instead I made this myself. I can't wait to see her cute little face in the morning...she's going to love it.

What a fun afternoon! Last night we were bombarded with ice. Some challenged the ice and ended up in ditches but the Raabes stayed home.

Happy Saturday!

Go Light Your World

A few days ago I was sitting with a friend at a local coffee shop drinking my fav 16oz skinny, no whip, light iced, 3 pump white mocha discussing the vastness of lost people out there. I scanned up and down the christmas lights across the way realizing the lights represent a million souls. What can a woman do to turn a million people? I’m still praying for God to move and for His answers on how to most effectively reach these people. And certainly give me his boldness.

I read a story about an old man and a young man, yet another account says it was the other way around, and another reads as two boys. Oh well, maybe it never happened – or perhaps it happened over and over a thousand times:
Just before dawn on a deserted beach after high tide, thousands of starfish were stranded. There was a lone figure who was picking them up and flinging them into the water. Someone walking up the beach caught up with him and gazed in wonder to ask, "Why do you spend so much energy doing what looks to me like a waste of time?" The first explained that the stranded starfish would die in the sun. "But the beach goes on for miles and miles and there must be thousands of beaches and millions of starfish," countered the newcomer. "So how can your efforts make any difference?" The first looked down at the starfish in his hand and as he threw it to safety into the sea he said, "It makes a difference to this one."

Why bother trying to reach a million people? Life is just another little starfish ministry. Each one needs to do a part in order to make the difference. We cannot do everything, but we can do something, and what we can do might make the eternal difference for someone’s life. All of the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the smallest light. Is there a Heaven? Is there a hell? Is there a commission? Then we’ve got to try.

Suffocating, Stuggling, or Strong?

Life is amazing. With each passing day I have no idea what to expect. I made a very cool "to-do" list during a challenge at my favorite scrapbooking site So my controlling nature is to make a list and cross off each item. My list always seems to be longer than my day, which is OK. In fact, Reagan came home yesterday from school and said, "Mom, looks like you have 6 more things to do before you can go to bed." Nice huh? Wouldn't it be great if life went just as you planned it? Or would it? Gosh, I might miss out on some cool blessing that God had planned but I hadn't.

Today a good friend shares that she has a cancer that there is no cure for, yet. Wow! That wasn't on my list. I wasn't prepared for that. Why do these things happen? I don't know but I found a message in my inbox tonight that is perfect.

To anyone today who will die without ever trusting in Jesus Christ alone to save you, you are the ones to leave us suffocating in grief! We will know where you are, and we will never be together again. To those who die as believers but never had the courtesy or courage to make it clear that you knew the Lord, you will leave us struggling! We will not know where you are or to know if we will embrace you again. But to those who do know the Lord and we know that you know the Lord, you leave us grateful and strong! God’s people are the only ones who can really look a loved one in the eye and be able to say, "I’ll see you later!" So friend, how will you leave us when you hear God’s final call? Suffocating in despair? Struggling with doubts? Or strong in knowing that your destiny is with the Lord? It surely ought to matter to you! And it matters so much to those of us who are left behind.

Powerful words from my friend Chuck in Utah. Thanks Chuck, I needed that reminder. Life is bigger than me and my list or even my worries.

Halloween (a little late)

Ok, so it takes me a while to get these pictures off the camera and on my computer.
It was going to be kittens all around until Emma decided at the last minute that she wanted to be a clown. Finding a wig on Halloween day isn't the easiest so I made this one. If I don't say so myself, I think it turned out very nicely. She loved it and that's all that matters. Both Reagan and Olivia we very pleased to be little kitty cats.

Olivia has been sick but feeling better today. The down side of her having the stomach flu means she didn't keep her medicine down. Today was not a good day for her. Our small group we blessed with her puking all over the place during group. So frustrating. Keep praying for Olivia's complete healing.

Thanks all for tonight.
Hugs to my friends!

This has got to be one of Chris' favorite fall activites. The carving of the pumpkins is a big deal at our house. Look at the talent here...Chris breaks out the drimmel and makes perfect faces. You know, if he was in a beauty pagent this talent just might give him the edge he would need. Any comments on that?

Emma designed a pumpkin while Reagan really wanted a vampire...nice huh? Olivia didn't design hers but a puking pumpkin is exactly what we needed to round out the family of jack-o-lanterns.

Speaking of Olivia. We have a great praise. We are puke free at our house and have been since the day we made the doctor appointment with the pediatric GI specialist. (about 18 days) Go figure. God's healing power is amazing!

Football Saturday has been painful here but yes we are still husker fans. Most of the state is hoping for a big announcement from Tom Osborne this week. You know, something that sounds like "you're fired!" We'll see. Right now I am watching the Coach Callahan show. What can the guy really say...."oh this is where we messed up." "And this is where we really messed up and let them score 11 unanswered TDs" Geepers.

Ok, it's time for bed. I am looking forward to my first visitor and comment. Go right ahead and at the very least say HI.

Self portrait

My favorite, some might say "only" scrap web-site ( ) presented us with a challenge to scrap a layout of a self-portrait. So that is where this picture came from. I really don't have that many pics of myself just laying around. I do have a nice one that the hubby took...I was wearing goggles while cutting up onions. Nice huh?

This is all new!

Here I go, trying to join the rest of the world...I now have a blog. Hopefully my dear husband will assist me with the writing otherwise anyone reading this may fall asleep. I'm not so exciting.

Here's the first post. As I figure out what the heck I should be doing on here it'll get better. I promise.

Until next time, have a great day.
